A Little Trouble with Blogger

I've had trouble getting the rest of our Christmas Pics up. SO... I just pulled the few we had to write a note.

To let everyone know... things are going great for us. We are enjoying life and trying to slow it down a little. I've been working ALOT here lately. Cynthia is enjoying being at the brownsville center. We have enjoyed watching Sylvie grow. She's getting big and is learning to shake hands, sit, give a high five and play dead. (Good job Cynthia for training the dog) She is also finally house trained. YEA!!!!!! I hope each of you are doing great and enjoying your lives as well. I'll try to get more pics up soon of life in general.

Sylvie has grown a couple of inches longer since these pics were taken. She's learning to play fetch as I write this. Cynthia is training her well.

Merry Christmas

I hope each of you are having a great Christmas Season so far. God has blessed our family and I pray he has blessed yours too. We had our Christmas Program last night at Church. Things went very well. I sang in a trio and Cynthia sang a solo. Our parents came up for the musical. It was good to have them in town. Some of you already know... but we have a new puppy in our house. Sylvie is about 8-9 weeks old. She is a Miniature Pinscher. Very Cute! I will try to get pics up soon. We've had her for 2 weeks.

Facing the Giants

A MUST SEE!




















You must go see Facing the Giants. It's a great Christian movie. Yes it truly is a Christian movie. Granted some of the acting could be better, but it is an all volunteer cast and crew. A fantastic film that will have you tearing up a little. Great for the whole family. Cynthia and I saw it with my parents in Nashville this weekend. I highly suggest it. In Jackson, it's playing at the Regal 10 on the bypass. We saw it at Opry Mills Regal 20 in Nashville.

Tent Revival

We have just finished our Tent Revival at Church this week. Bro. Ronnie Coleman from FBC Trenton was our Evangelist for the week. It was an awesome week, and our entire church is changed by the power of the Holy Spirit and His working in our midst. There were 45 people saved, one family joined the church and many rededicated their lives. Praise God!

WOW! It's been a while.

Sorry... I just realized it's been too long since my last post. But when I think about it... a lot has happened. We have had a very eventful July and August is off to a great start. It should by far surpass July for the most busy month of the year so far. In July I traveled to Atlanta for work. Leland, my co-worker, and I traveled to "learn" how to program a classroom system. WOW was it hard. But we both passed, to our own amazement. I spent last weekend in Savannah. I ran sound for a Youth Conference and had a chance to go to church with Mom and Dad at our former church. The church has grown a lot and changed a lot since we were there in Feb. It was good to see everyone. For the last couple of weeks we have been helping Leland and Nancy fix up their new home which is about a mile from ours. They are now in and enjoying the house. I hope that the summer has treated you all well. We have had a great summer ourselves. Next week (Aug 20) I will be overseeing a telethon for Cynthia's work, the Carl Perkins Center. I am looking forward to it. I kind of get the feeling that I am now rambling about a bunch of stuff... so I think I'll quit. PLEASE, Please, Please let us know what is happening with you. Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Our Dads! We love both of you.

Let me take a quick minute to catch everyone up on our lives.

Here's what's happened in the last few weeks. We joined a new church - First Baptist Church in Alamo, TN. Check out the link to the left.

I have a new co-worker in my office at Union. Leland and his wife Nancy have become great friends of ours. They have 2 great girls, Madison (6) and Tori (2). They are fun to be with.

We bought a new riding lawn mower at Home Depot 2 weeks ago. It makes mowing much easier. Now, to only get it paid off!

We spent yesterday (Saturday the 17th) with my Mom's family. We had a family reunion in North Alabama. It was a great day at the lake. It rained a little but we enjoyed the day.

We took my dad out for dinner last night for Father's Day and we ate lunch with Bob and Joy at Cynthia's Gradparent's house today.

I hope everyone is doing well and we hope that we can see you soon.

Headin' to the Lake

We'll I'm pretty excited. We are heading up to the lake for the first time this year. Cynthia's family has a couple of lake houses at KY Lake and we are going to spend Memorial Day Weekend with them. We're leaving after church on Sunday and will be back on Monday afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting away for a few hours. I wish I could say a few days but it won't really be more than 30 hours or so. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day and remembers to hug a veteran for their service to our country.

This was the night of the great cook out at Muse Park in Jackson. We had a great time grilling Bratwurst and Burgers... even though us guys, didn't quite know what we were doing. (What can I say... I cook on Gas not Charcoal) All in all, the food wasn't bad at all. We had a great time!

SPRING TIME FUN!

We'll it is officially warm in West Tennessee. Spring is here. We had a cook out tonight with April & Adam, 2 of our friends from college. Jen and Jeremy Parker were there as well. Jen was Cynthia's roommate for a while. We grilled out hamburgers and bratwurst at Muse Park in Jackson. It was fun. We were going to play football a little, but it turned dark to soon. We also got to see some other friends last week on a short vacation. We went to Atlanta for a few days. While there, we spent some time with Jimmy & Danielle Sorrells. They are some of Cynthia's friends from Greenville, SC. I got to meet them for the first time. They are super nice folks. We also saw one of our good friends from college... JEFF! He was a broadcasting major with me at Union. We spent many days together studying and hanging out after class.

Cynthia has been working on painting our kitchen cabinets this week. She took a couple of days off and got a lot of work done. She's doing a little work on them now. I mowed the grass for the first time at our new house. Boy was it a challenge. I guess we let it get a little tall. It's nice to have our own house. I love thinking about what to do next. Is it just me or does a house give a never ending possiblity for improvement? It will be fun to see what happens next.

Union's Women's Basketball Team Wins National championship

Just a quick note to our friends... Union University, our Alma Mater and my place of employment, took home the NAIA Ladies Division One National Championship last night at OMAN Arena here in Jackson. We were there and enjoyed the game.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

WOW! It's snowed twice within 8 days in West TN. We had 3 inches last Saturday and less than an inch today... but we had ICE today. FUN! The good news is that the roads were cleared pretty soon. Things are going great. We are still loving our jobs and our new home. We are still settling in our community (Bells, TN) We are just 15 minutes out of Jackson, so we have all the comforts of a big city within just a few minutes, yet we live the country life... kinda. I guess that's all for now. ~Josh

So I bought a Honda Accord Thursday night. A man we go to church with was selling it. It gets a lot better gas milage than my truck. By the way if you know of anyone who wants a 94 dodge dakota, let me know...
